About me
Hola, I'm Shab! Mucho gusto.
I am a photographer (and much more) from Los Angeles, California now based in Barcelona. I've been creating images for almost twenty years across the different lives I've lived, and I like to think it has all led me and my vision here -- completely in love with capturing raw, unfiltered moments for humans in love. Whether it's a 100-person wedding in Menorca, a 5-person elopement in Denmark or a surprise proposal in Paris, I am always to grateful to be trusted by my clients to document these big, beautiful moments.
Being based in Barcelona allows me to travel easily most anywhere the party is.
My style
I am a documentary visual storyteller.
I search for moments unseen and in between.
My images are raw and natural because they are real, frozen moments in time that I let unfold authentically. I don't pose my couples but rather guide them in feeling comfortable in front of my lens as if I'm not even there, as if it were just the two of them, alone in love.
In a crowd, I am grounded and observant, waiting for the moments themselves to find me.
I shoot on a mix of digital and film because I love what each format gives me: one gives me precision, the other serendipity-- both unfiltered and spontaneous.
